Seminars/Symposia

“The Academy organizes Symposia/Seminars in different parts of the country at national/international levels on topics of national importance. Based on the deliberations, INAE invariably brings out policy recommendations for suitable follow-up action by the concerned Ministry/Department.

Innovation is indispensable for organizations to remain competitive and is indeed a major driver of progress of any country. Innovation Ecosystem that allows ideas to grow to fruition is the principle catalyst for fostering rapid innovation and the translation of these innovations into large scale, successful businesses. The conference is aimed at providing a platform for exchange of ideas and collaboration among various stakeholders. Participation of international experts that will afford cross- cultural exchanges will further stimulate our thinking and add value to our views on innovation and the ways to improve the innovation ecosystem.
We very cordially invite you to participate in the XXVI IMPC being hosted India for the first time. The Indian Institute of Mineral Engineers (IIME) and The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) are organizing this mega-event in collaboration with and support from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and the Ministries of Steel, Mines and Coal. The mining minerals and metals industry globally and particularly in India is confronted with new challenges of reducing its environmental footprint. Land, energy and water are extremely scarce in India.
MOS-AK/GSA India 2012 aims to provide a Hi-Tech forum to discuss the frontiers of device modeling for Microsystems with emphasis on simulation-aware models. This event envisages to strengthen a network and discussion forum among experts in the field, enhance open platform for information exchange related to compact/Spice modeling and Verilog-A standardization, bring people in the compact modeling field together, as well as obtain feedback from technology developers, circuit designers, and CAD tool vendors. The topics cover all important aspects of compact model development, implementation, deployment and standardization within the main theme - frontiers of the compact modeling for CMOS/SOI circuit simulation and nm-scale MEMS designs.
India is home to many semiconductor design companies, Indian as well as MNCs. The very presence of EDA, embedded system and design service companies has enriched the ecosystem. Government of India has lately been contemplating on embarking on a program for a home-grown microprocessor suitable for strategic requirements. There is an international perception that India can be as much a design hub for semiconductor products as China is in manufacturing. Therefore, notwithstanding our slow progress on VLSI fabrication/manufacturing, should we not strive to make India a real powerhouse in VLSI design?
The Sixth National Symposium on National Frontiers of Engineering (NatFOE 2011), the flagship event of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), was organized at Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, 2-3 September 2011. The symposium was attended by nearly 100 participants including 17 distinguished speakers and 29 invited participants. Prof UB Desai in his Welcome Address highlighted that the theme of this year’s symposium “Green Technologies” was chosen in such a way to cover most of the engineering disciplines so that a multidisciplinary approach may be adopted for this emerging area. In his opening remarks, Dr. MJ Zarabi, Vice-President, INAE, emphasized that these conclaves of young engineers should lead to some tangible ideas that require be further evolving into specific project proposals and pursuing thereafter in a timely manner. This was followed with an address by Chief Guest Dr. PS Goel who advised all young engineers to adopt a unified approach to develop technologies which can benefit the society directly.
A National Conference on Advances in Nuclear Technology (ADNUTECH2010): Successes, Spin-offs and Opportunities was jointly organized by Indian National Academy of Engineering and Department of Atomic Energy on Dec 2-3, 2010 at Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Mumbai. Mr. VK Mehra, Director, Reactor Projects Group, BARC was the Convener of this Conference and Dr. S. Banerjee, Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission, Department of Atomic Energy was the chair of the conference.
A two days National Symposium on ‘Emerging Innovative Technologies for Assurance of Quality and Safety in Processed Foods (FoQSAT2011)’ was organized by the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur during February 24-25, 2011. The symposium was attended by about 200 delegates from various reputed institutions like Defense Food Research Laboratory, Mysore; Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore; IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, etc.
INAE-ATSE Workshop on Energy Efficiency was jointly organized by Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) on April 11-12, 2011 at India International Centre, New Delhi. Dr Ajay Mathur, FNAE, Director – General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, New Delhi was the Chair of the workshop. The objective of the workshop was to bring together Australia and Indian energy technology and policy experts to identify the key issues and strategies towards Australia and India meeting future energy efficiency needs.
